About This Blog

In February 2008, I was supremely fortunate to find my sweet dog Rockhudson at Cook County Animal Care and Control. Many people do not consider going to the pound to look for a dog. Just last week a co-worker said that he hadn't considered going there because he thought he would only find "problem" dogs there. NOT TRUE! There are many reasons that dogs end up at the city pound. In the last few years many dogs have been left there by owners who lost their homes and couldn't find an apartment that would accept dogs. My own little Mister was found running the streets - in Chicago - in January. Seven pounds of freezing sweetness. Animals are only kept for six days before they are euthanized. Just six days to make a good impression and get a chance at life. I hope that in reading about the Mister you will see what a great dog you can find at the city pound.
